Motorolla Razr V3

November 22nd, 2005

Motorola VS RazrI’ve had my Razr V3 for awhile now, so I figured I should tell you about it since it has been operational for 3 months. I am constantly impressed by its size and weight. It’s tiny! I can slip it in my pocket and not lose it, and yet not notice it there. I am not a fan of belt clips so I don’t stick it on my belt at any time, it’s always in my pocket. Despite being with change, keys and other items all day for over 90 days, the Razr has yet to scratch in any way shape or form.

The message storage size is good. I generally can store 100 txt messages. This is important because sometimes I don’t have time for calls, I fire a quick text. A great feature is the “pre-written” text. Select the message you want to send and hit Send. No playing around required. I have the black Razr and my only complaint is that it smudges with grease easily because of the surface. But it just takes a moment to wipe off. And I tell you I still get looks from people, and this is a 12 month old phone model. Sadly the prices are dropping like crazy, I paid over $250 for mine and the price is dropping to under $100. That’s fine though, that’s the market for you.

The reception is great, I never drop calls. I am very happy with this phone, as I have been with all Motorolas. If you remember the Startac, I had one of the first and it was one of the best phones (next to the Razr) I have ever had.

iPod - No more mini?

November 22nd, 2005

I went to the store today to pick up an iPod mini because I have been starving for one for months, ever since my friends started picking them up. I eagerly approached the iPod section of the store only to be taken back by the fact that all they stocked were Nano, shuffle, and video ipods. Highly disappointing, however I guess this means I am getting a 60GB Black iPod which isn’t a bad deal. I might wait until after the Christmas craze though and wait for a price drop in the spring. Everyone will want one for the spring semester in school.

I will miss the mini. A solid little unit and decent space too. That’s alright I suppose that is progress for you.

Playstation 3 Release and Information

November 22nd, 2005

Information on the Playstation 3 (or PS3) is very limited and not certain. Some of the features of definite, and the design /controllers are for sure. However things like the launch date and all of the release titles, the release package are still under wraps. And don’t ask me why Sony launches their consoles after christmas and lets Xbox take control of that market. To me it would make way more sense to get under the tree.

Rumors indicate that we will see a March 2006 release of the Playstation 3 console. Some of the games that are expected are:

  • Dark Sector - The hero Hayden travels to pluto as a stowaway on a big ship. He is discovered and the journey to stay alive begins.
  • Eyedentify - Use your headset to command your troops (who happen to be hot chicks)
  • Final Fantasy PS3 - No information is readily available for this game.
  • The Getaway PS3 - Realistic as can be. The streets look like exact replicas of the real ones.

The Playstation 3 is still rather secretive, all we have are the odd images. I will try to keep you posted on the process of the system and the games as information comes in.

XBox 360 has been unleashed!

November 22nd, 2005

XBox 360So the Xbox 360 has been launched in North America as of yesterday. Were you one of the people waiting in line to get yours as I was? I managed to find a quiet little store that had a few in stock and made sure I was one of the first in line. This new system looks sweet and I just had to have one. I also picked up: XB360 Call of Duty 2, XB360 Quake 4, XB360 Dead or Alive 4 to get me started on my gaming adventure. There’s nothing I love more than shooting Zombies, Aliens or the enemy. There’s a whole ton of games for this system. I love it.

If you haven’t picked up your 360 yet, I strongly suggest you consider it before people decide to get in on the holiday rush a week before Christmas day. That never goes over well.
